Summary of Position:

The Design, Monitoring and Evaluation (DM&E) Africa Specialist is responsible for providing leadership and technical support on design, monitoring and evaluation to half of our Africa programs. The DM&E Africa Specialist will also work within a regional structure to improve program and DM&E quality. S/he will directly report to the DM&E Manager based in Washington DC and work closely with the other three regional DM&E Specialists; including the DME West Africa Specialist. This position is based out of the SFCG Burundi office.

The Ashoka ChangemakerXchange is a platform for collaboration among the world’s most inspiring young social entrepreneurs. In 2012 40 youth from Europe and Turkey got the chance to come together in Istanbul and Berlin to share experiences, exchange ideas and develop new social innovations.

The “ChangemakerXchange” is a series of unique events and a global community for some of the world’s most inspiring young social entrepreneurs. We meet for conferences at exciting places, challenge ourselves, learn from each other and start transnational collaborations.

Selection Criteria:

You are between 18-28 years old – you lead, co-lead, founded or co-founded your own social venture which is up and running – you speak English well enough to understand presentations in English and participate in discussions – you are interested in meeting other European, Turkish and North African young social entrepreneurs – you are willing to start collaborations with other young social entrepreneurs from different countries Country restrictions | Please note: For the changemakerXchange summit in Istanbul we can, unfortunately, only accept applications from people living (or being born) in Europe, Turkey, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco – more countries will be added for the next summits.

Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. The programme makes awards to outstanding scholars with leadership potential from around the world to study postgraduate courses at universities in the UK.

The Chevening programme was established in 1983 and has developed into a prestigious international scheme. Chevening Scholars come from 118 countries worldwide (excluding the USA and the EU), and this year the Scholarships will support more than 600 individuals. There are over 42,000 Chevening alumni around the world who together comprise an influential and highly regarded global network.

The programme provides full or part funding for full-time courses at postgraduate level, normally a one-year Master’s degree, in any subject and at any UK university.
