In the News: Ethical Considerations for Ebola Care

Recent CIHA Blog posts about the Ebola epidemic in West Africa have focused on the ethics of the vaccine treatment and on the ethical considerations that governments and NGOs need to take into account. A recent article in the Journal of Medical Ethics, “The Ebola Outbreak in West Africa: Ethical Obligations for Care,” and an accompanying blog post highlight the human rights concerns about local health care workers. “Traditional public health ethics has paid little attention to the protection of the rights of healthcare workers, but the Ebola epidemic has brought this issue to the forefront.”
